They say photographers have their own unique photography style and way of seeing the world…I know I do! I tend to favor sharp and colorful images or at least I attempt to make them look that way. But with anything in life, sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone to spark inspiration and creativity. That’s why I decided to purchase the “Dreamy Diana” lens from Photojojo. Right off the bat, I thought that perhaps I made a mistake in getting this plastic lens. The blurriness of the images taken with it is something I usually try to avoid altogether in my photos. But the whole point was to step out of my comfort zone and try something different – and step out is what I did. I dedicated an afternoon of shooting with this lens exclusively and you know what, it wasn’t so bad. Of course it will never replace my tack sharp 50mm, but I’m looking forward to playing around with this lens a little more often especially when the weather gets a bit warmer.

Colorful and bright is so fun. Sometimes soft and blurry is pretty cool as well. I like these images a ton. I hope you have fun playing with your lens in the Spring! : ) Have the most wonderful weekend Maddy. Kaishon is in a play tomorrow. He has had a bad week at school. Gary has had a terrible week : ( Me too. Today I cried all day : (

I think different photos call for different treatments (for want of a better word). The stones in the pic on the bottom right look like marshmallows. :)
You’re right about having to step outside of our comfort zones once in a while. Have fun with your new lens. =)

I like it…I like it a lot. I am a soft and dreamy kinda girl myself, but I also yearn for that sharp and contrasted look in a photo.
Keep on growing and stretching…it is def showing. :)

ohh my, I think they turned out amazing, though I a fan of “dreamy” photos! I want to hit the flea markets to get some vintage lenses, but first, I need an adapter… Pity the shipments costs so much because I would get dreamy diana lens too:(

They are lovely and dreamy, but why don’t you just play around with the many blur modes? or am I missing something? Wishing you a lovely weekend, Maddy.

Moving forward and making progress is always about stepping out of your comfort zone, so it’s good that you’re willing to go there. And I like the dreamy pictures, they instantly romaticize an image :)

I love your photos, for some reason I didn’t even think to go outside when taking photos to show how the Diana lens turned out. (Well, it was cold and I was lazy) I must play with my lens a bit more!
